“There is Nothing More Practical Than A Good Theory”

The International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory (EMTS 2025) will be held from June 23-27, 2025, in Bologna, Italy. Organized by the Commission B (Fields and Waves) of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) and the University of Bologna, EMTS 2025 marks the 25th event in this prestigious triennial series, which has a rich history dating back to 1953.
The symposium aims to advance the field of electromagnetic theory and foster its application across a diverse array of strategic domains, including wireless communication, sensing and industrial applications. Its scope encompasses all areas of electromagnetic theory and applications, including scattering, antennas, propagation, metasurfaces, and inverse problems, making it the major scientific event for Commission B, alongside the URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium, URSI Atlantic Radio Science Meeting (AT-RASC) and URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference (AP-RASC).

In 2025, this premier event will take place in the historic heart of Europe’s oldest academic hub, Bologna, a city where Luigi Galvani and Augusto Righi unveiled the secrets of electricity, and Guglielmo Marconi realized the first wireless communications link using electromagnetic waves.
EMTS 2025 promises a rich program spanning all facets of electromagnetism. Attendees can look forward to keynote presentations by thought leaders, dedicated sessions for emerging topics and young scholars, social activities, and a gala dinner in the heart of Italian cuisine.

Join us for an enriching experience amidst the academic, architectural, and culinary attractions of Bologna: welcome to Italy in 2025 !
